The paper’s own reporting undercuts years of insinuations surrounding Trump’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
The New York Times acknowledged in a recent examination of Jeffrey Epstein’s history that it found “no evidence implicating Mr. Trump in Mr. Epstein’s abuse and trafficking of minors,” a conclusion that stands in contrast to years of speculation and political innuendo surrounding the former president’s past social proximity to the disgraced financier.
Epstein, who died in federal custody in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, maintained relationships with numerous wealthy and politically connected figures over several decades. In the aftermath of his arrest, public attention shifted from documented criminal conduct to broader efforts to associate public figures with Epstein’s crimes absent substantiated evidence.
Court records and sworn testimony have repeatedly failed to link Donald Trump to Epstein’s criminal activity. In fact, Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre explicitly stated under oath that she never had sexual contact with Trump and never accused him of wrongdoing.
Her deposition, filed in federal court during civil litigation involving Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell, makes no allegation of abuse by Trump.
Additionally, unsealed court filings released pursuant to judicial order in 2024 contain extensive testimony, flight records, and corroborating evidence related to Epstein’s trafficking network.
None alleges criminal conduct by Trump, nor do they place him on Epstein’s aircraft or at locations central to the abuse.
Federal prosecutors likewise never named Trump as a subject or witness in Epstein-related prosecutions. The Department of Justice’s charging documents and sentencing memoranda focus exclusively on Epstein and Maxwell’s conduct.
