12-Year-Old Student “Manipulated” By Teachers Into Becoming Transgender

A California mother claims her daughter was ‘coached’ by teachers into becoming transgender.

Parents at a California middle school are outraged after school staff allegedly disguised the name of Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) clubs at a school board meeting in Salinas.

Jessica Konen claims that school staff indoctrinated her then 12-year-old daughter in an LGBTQ club disguised as an “Equality Club.”

“It made me feel very, very small as a parent. I was unaware of anything. Not one time had she mentioned to me ‘Oh, I think that I want to change my name,’ or ‘I’m transgender’ or anything. Nothing. I only heard bisexual one time, and that was it,” Konen said.

After Konen met with school officials and accused her of not being “emotionally supportive,” the King City Police Department showed up at her door and told her that a complaint was made to Child Protective Services (CPS). The police questioned her two children and asked them if they wanted to be removed from the home.

The policies and procedures for running the GSA clubs come from a conference held by the California Teachers Association in Palm Springs in October of 2021. Two teachers from the middle school Konen’s daughter attends in Salinas were recorded coaching other teachers to conceal the nature of LGTBQ clubs from parents, including hiding student attendance records.

Konen filed a lawsuit earlier this year against the Spreckels Union School District, two teachers, and a principal seeking damages for intentional infliction of emotional distress and civil-rights violations. The lawsuit claims the policies allowed the staff to prod her daughter into identifying as transgender starting in sixth grade.
